Brief History of the Faculty

1994
The proposal to establish the Faculty of Information Technology was approved by King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang on July 12, 1994.

1996
It was officially established as a government agency on February 27, 1996. The faculty developed the first master's degree program, Master of Science in Information Technology, with two specializations: Information Management and Information Science, offered since the second semester of 1995.

2002
The Faculty of Information Technology developed a Bachelor of Science program in Information Technology to produce graduates with strong academic and ethical foundations to serve society and to prepare graduates for further studies at the master's level. The first student intake was in the academic year 2003.

2004
The Faculty developed a doctoral program, Doctor of Philosophy in Information Technology, with its first intake in the academic year 2004.

The master's degree curriculum was revised to include two specializations: Information System Technologies (IST) and Information Technology and Management (ITM).

The Master of Science degree program in Information Technology was divided into two specializations: Information System Technologies (IST) and Information Technology and Management (ITM).

The bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs were revised to comply with the National Higher Education Qualification Framework (TQF). The Master's program (Master of Science) was divided into four specializations: 1. Information Science (IS) 2. Information System Technologies (IST) 3. Network and Systems Technology (NST) 4. Information Technology and Management (ITM)
